We can be foolish with what God entrusts to us, or we can trust him, do our best, and anticipate that day when he will commend us for being wise and faithful.
Thriving requires keeping the end goal, approval from Jesus, in sight. But thriving in a tumultuous world also needs a generous amount of grace, forgiveness, and awareness. And we must guard against the common temptation to be distracted from following Jesus by the good things he gives us.
Jesus’ victory over sin and death means that we can be forgiven and can experience life with him now and forever. Leaving behind past regrets, we can work on behalf of others and prepare for the day of Jesus’ return and the completion of our salvation.
Joy is sustained by longing for Jesus’ approval and considering the greatness of salvation. This joy is not only self-sustaining but also inviting and contagious.
